Kindergarten Courses: Letters, Numbers and the World
Kindergarten is where recognition turns into use. A child who knows letter shapes starts hearing the sounds inside words, and a child who can count starts seeing that the last number said is how many there are.
Nine subjects, each taught as a short sequence of units rather than a pile of activities. Every lesson can be replayed, and the questions are different each time.

What changes at this stage
- Letter names and letter sounds are different skills and they need separating. A child can sing the alphabet perfectly and still not sound out a three letter word.
- Numbers past ten need a different idea, not more counting. The teen numbers are the first place a child meets tens and ones.
- Children arrive here at very different points. A child not yet recognising letters is not behind, they simply need more contact with them.
Questions parents ask
- What age is kindergarten level for?
- Roughly ages 4 to 5, but place your child by what they can already do rather than by their age.
- Can we skip ahead?
- Yes. Nothing is locked for a signed out visitor, and a parent can turn on free roam for a signed in child.
- Does it work offline?
