Plants and animals are studied together and then placed in habitats, so that where something lives is tied to what it is. Forces arrive as push, pull and magnets, all testable by hand, and the course ends on Earth, sun, moon and stars.
The Grade 2 Science course is two units, taken in order: Plants and Habitats and Forces, Earth and Sky.

How Science is taught here
Science is taught as observe, sort, then explain. Children first notice what something does, then group things that behave alike, and only then meet the word that names the rule. The explanation arrives last on purpose, because a definition learned before the observation is just a phrase.

Levels and scoring

What age is Grade 2 Science for?
Ages 6 to 7 is the guide, but go by what your child can already do rather than by age. Nothing is locked for a visitor, so trying the level above or below costs nothing and takes one tap.
