The big sorting idea of this course is living against non-living, which underpins everything later. Body parts and caring for them follow, then air and water, and finally weather and the seasons a child can watch change.
The Grade 1 Science course is two units, taken in order: Living Things and My Body and Air, Water and Weather.
That is 4 numbered lessons and 25 written questions, about 20 minutes of teaching altogether, which usually spreads across a week or two. Lessons can be replayed and the questions are dealt fresh each time.

How Science is taught here
Science is taught as observe, sort, then explain. Children first notice what something does, then group things that behave alike, and only then meet the word that names the rule. The explanation arrives last on purpose, because a definition learned before the observation is just a phrase.

Levels and scoring

How long does the Grade 1 Science course take?
4 lessons and 25 questions, about 20 minutes of teaching. There is no streak to maintain and no deadline, so it can be done in one sitting or spread out.
What age is Grade 1 Science for?
Ages 5 to 6 is the guide, but go by what your child can already do rather than by age. Nothing is locked for a visitor, so trying the level above or below costs nothing and takes one tap.
Is Grade 1 Science free?
