What the Grade 2 Art & Rhymes course covers

Urdu poems sit alongside the art here, which is deliberate: rhythm and pattern are the same idea in two forms. Warm and cool colours are introduced, a full scene is drawn, and the course ends on an Urdu nazm.

The Grade 2 Art & Rhymes course is two units, taken in order: Poems in Urdu and Warm, Cool and Scenes.

That is 4 numbered lessons and 23 written questions, about 20 minutes of teaching altogether, which usually spreads across a week or two. Lessons can be replayed and the questions are dealt fresh each time.

This is step 4 of 7 in Art & Rhymes. Nothing is locked, so if these lessons are easy the next grade is one tap away, and if they are hard the grade below is too.

How Art & Rhymes is taught here

Art moves from colour and shape, to pattern, to the crafts that build on both. Children learn primary and secondary colours, then lines and shapes, then repeating pattern, and then simple making with paper, drawing and traditional craft ideas.

How Art & Rhymes runs from playgroup to Grade 5 sets out the full sequence and where this course sits in it.

Levels and scoring

Each lesson plays at Explorer, Challenger or Champion. Only first-try answers count towards stars, so a retry never inflates a score, and a lesson is mastered at 90 percent at Challenger or above. See how a lesson works for the full explanation.

Questions parents ask

How long does the Grade 2 Art & Rhymes course take?

4 lessons and 23 questions, about 20 minutes of teaching. There is no streak to maintain and no deadline, so it can be done in one sitting or spread out.

What age is Grade 2 Art & Rhymes for?

Ages 6 to 7 is the guide, but go by what your child can already do rather than by age. Nothing is locked for a visitor, so trying the level above or below costs nothing and takes one tap.

Is Grade 2 Art & Rhymes free?

Yes, and without the usual catch. No account is needed, there is no advertising and there are no in-app purchases. It also works with no connection once the site is added to a home screen, or through the free Android app.

Does my child need art materials?

No. Every lesson can be answered on screen. Where a lesson suggests making something, it uses paper and pencil rather than anything that has to be bought.
